Harlequin Junkie Spotlight

Here's an interview you might like to read that appeared on Harlequin Junkie. This site has a large amount of traffic, and I really enjoyed the comments I got on the post. We talked about whether we were good fashion advisors or if we needed help with fashion for ourselves. There were only a few people who felt confident about their fashion sense.

I was not one of them! LOL

That's right! Little old me. What a great opportunity to reach new readers. I assume people are short of time, like me, so as always I tried to keep it short. I talked very little about the book and instead reviewed a terrific movie that had something in common with Across the Line.

An Internship, at My Age!

Over the past few months, I've been casually informing John Hoven of MayorsManor.com, an LA Kings blog, when I saw typos in his articles. As you know, I love the Kings, and I often turn to Hoven's site for great interviews and such. 

Hoven has been grateful for my help in proofreading. As any writer knows, it's difficult to proof your own writing, and I've been doing it because I would want someone to do the same thing if I had typos on my website.

Anyway, a couple of days ago, he tweeted jokingly,  

Need you to just start transcribing quotes after the game and I'll really be dialed in!!!

I asked him if he was serious and he was. So, last night, I transcribed two interviews he conducted, one with Colin Fraser and the other with Jeff Schultz. It was more time consuming than I'd anticipated! Sometimes the players don't speak clearly and I had to rewind four, sometimes five times. But it was still fun. 

I'm hoping that in return, since I've volunteered to do this free of charge, that someday in the future, he'll see fit to introduce me to some of the guys on the team and/or give me a little tour of the player areas. That would be SO AWESOME for my research. 

But I'm just keeping my head down right now, doing the job and getting him all beholden and stuff. Heh heh.

Best Novella Award!

I'm thrilled to announce that Book Utopia Mom named my story, Losing It, her very favorite novella of 2009. This lady reads a lot of electronic books and she's extremely discerning, so I consider it a great honor to have made her year-end list. I'll even admit I was actually awaiting the posting of her year-end lists to see if I made it on! Tee hee. Yes, I'm that greedy for recognition.

Unveiling the New Blog

I decided to create a blog just for my Woman's World magazine reviews. I hope it works out. There's a voting feature where you can rate the story each week. I can categorize the stories with key words. And if people are googling Woman's World in their quest to publish with them, hopefully my insignificant site will show up.
